CARTEK Power Distribution Modules have been designed to be a simple but effective solution to improving your vehicles electronics. Our PDM’s come with a selection of amperage and function settings to choose from – simplifying the configuration process greatly.

 

HOW THEY WORK

The CARTEK Power Distribution Modules use the latest solid state technology to provide over-current and short circuit protection to your electrical components. If an electrical component draws more current than expected or experiences a short circuit then the CARTEK PDM will safely shut down the output automatically. The RGB status LED will indicate a fault on the channel when this occurs and the channel can be reset by either pressing the integrated push button or by turning the channel off and on again.

CARTEK Power Distribution Modules come with a range of functions to operate Headlights, Indicators, Heated Screens, Wiper Motors, Rad Fans, Fuel Pumps etc. Channels can also be operated by a range of input types such as momentary/latching switches and ground or battery positive activation. CAN-Bus is also available allowing diagnostic data to be displayed and recorded by third party devices. CARTEK PDM’s can also be controlled by CAN messages.

FEATURES

EASY TO CONFIGURE

No coding experience is necessary as a choice of amperage, input and function settings can be selected by the use of the integrated push button and following a sequence of LED patterns.

SMALL FORM FACTOR

CARTEK PDM’s are incredibly small and lightweight (starting from 128g). Fully encapsulated – designed for the harsh environments of motorsport

CURRENT PROTECTION

Output current limits can be changed in 5/10A steps (depending on model). Outputs can handle inrush and have the option of soft-start.

CHOICE OF INPUT TYPES

Inputs can be configured to respond to momentary or latching type signals as well as active high (battery positive) ground or PWM (200hz max)

ADDITIONAL AUX INPUTS

The AUX inputs can be configured to act as an Ignition input e.g signal from Battery Isolator or an additional logic function such as Hazard input, Spot Light enable, Wiper park etc..

CAN-BUS CONNECTION

Diagnostic data including output status, volts, amps, configuration settings, etc. Outputs can also be operated through CAN Bus.

CARTEK PDM-5

OVERVIEW

The PDM-5C is a small 5 channel PDM – designed for users that don’t require CAN-Bus.

 

SPECIFICATION

  • 5 X Outputs (max 20A current limit per channel)
    Output current limits configured in 5A steps. Current limits can also handle low inrush.
  • Selectable ‘Soft Start’ option for driving devices with high inrush such as fans or pumps
  • 5x Inputs – select from Active Low/Active High/Edge Triggered/Always on or PWM signal (200hz max)
  • Choice of output functions such as Input Controlled, Flashing (1Hz) Timer on and Overrun.
  • 1x Auxiliary Input pin – can be used as Ignition input or additional logic functions such as Hazard input, Car Lights Controller or Spot Lamps control input
  • Dedicated Modes – the PDM-5 can be configured to become a dedicated Car lights or Spot Lamps controller.
  • RGB status LED’s on PDM indicate status of Inputs and Outputs.
  • Small, lightweight, robust design – just 110g.
  • Fully potted for protection from water and dirt, shock and vibration.
  • All connections via sealed 12 pin Amphenol (Deutsch DT) connector. PDM comes supplied with crimps and mating connector.
